TRACTION HELP

Joe, I run the max. psi which is 32psi. makes the car sit lob-sided at rest but i don't care 'cause the launch works. I run a 4:88 gear, definately strip-only. Pass. side I run 15x10 w/3.5" backspacing, and driver's side I run 15x10 w/4" backspacing and a wheel spacer. had to experiment with different wheels and offsets to keep these slicks from rubbing, while tucking them in as much as possible. Also, the wheelwells are different (pass side is smaller than driver's side). Also the Ford 9" rear has different axle widths pass. side relative to driver's side which factor in also. Here are 2 pics of what I did with fabbing "mud flaps". These keep the rubber and rocks off the sides of my car (without them the rubber and rocks were getting slung both before and after the tires, including doors, windows, and mirrors!).

Maybe some El camino guys can share what tire sizes work for them, but my 83 monte has extremely restrictive stock wheel wells.

Kevin
