i have a set of boxed lower/tubular upper trailing arms with poly bushings on backorder from summit but i'm looking at maybe getting global west lower trailing arms with spherical bearings/delrin bushings. the arms are tubular with side sway bar mounting holes. since i've read that replacing the lowers tends to fix most of the problem associated with the OEM arms i might go with them because i keep reading the poly bushing can bind and i dont want bind.

the trailing arm kit is 320 bucks and the global west lowers are 360, only 40 bucks more and has much better bushings in the bargain but no upper arms to speak of . i do have trailing arm braces though. i can always get upper arms later.

I have the complete Edelbrock set up on mine. the lowers have the polys front and back. I'm not too experienced with the suspension bind, and I don't really know what exactly it feels like. But I can say the rear seems almost a bit to tight sometimes. Could this be bind, I don't know for sure. But for an extra $40 I would go for the more expensive lower ones. From what I've read on here the uppers aren't as important as the lowers.

I would also check out UMIPerformance.com They have great products at reasonable prices. I have them in my car, that's the only reason I reccomend them 8)

well i called summit and they had the tubular lower and upper trailing arm kit from UMI so i went with that over the lower boxed tubular upper arm kit i originally ordered. 60 bucks less so now i can get a set of moog springs for the back. probably get some for a monte ss app.

i'm not going road racing so the tubular arms will do just fine for now. ill see what the poly bushings do after i get them in.

as long as you don't used boxed with poly bushings on the uppers you'll be ok. The uppers bind alot more than the lowers

i'm not replacing the bushings in the rear end housing, just the arms and they're tubular not boxed.

tubular or boxed, same results

The stock upper control arm is made so that it can twist when it's in a binding situation. I tried a set of boxed control arms on top and it bound so hard it elongated the holes on both uppers at the ears on the rear end. Maybe those tubulars are made to flex but I'd be asking them about that

i doubt i can get rubber bushings for the uppers so i'll just see what happens.
Call UMI direct...I'm pretty sure they can hook you up with what your looking for 🙂
