Trans leaks only when running....

if it wasn't hot enough to burn your hand then that is a good sign. We had a issue with fluid coming out of the breather on a powerglide we ran in our circle track Cutlass but we were running that in first gear at 62,000 rpm. We took out a quart and put a long line on the breather to stop us getting black flagged...

I might try the long line trick. That way I can put it in gear and check the rpm to see when it comes out. It's weird because it seems like it does it on start up because I can let the engine run as I lay under it and nothing comes out. If I shift it through the gears I don't notice a difference in the size of the puddle. Maybe the pump or converter is draining too much back into the pan? Im not exactly sure how autos work with that.
