ok so i just picked up this super clean 88 cutlass supreme w/ a 307. my problem is that it seems to go from 1st to 2nd soon a i start moving from a light. the car shifts good and hits all the gears and downshifts when its supposed to but in normal driving it picks up slow because its going threw the gears to quick it seams. it does have a od trans if that helps. any ideas would be great and thanks for reading this
Well if the OD trans is a 200-4R then it could be the TV cable. Adjusting it is a quick and simple process and there are plenty of threads on here about it. Does it always shift early or only when you're trying to get going fast?
I'm not convinced that that's the problem but it wouldn't hurt to check it out.
