trans temp?

I noticed a sending unit on my transmission and can only assume its a temp. sender. Was thinking of getting a gauge since the tras is newly rebuilt, and it might be a good idea to keep an eye on it. you can see it just to the left of the kickdown. am i right here?

That certainly looks like one to me. Now I gotta go find mine! Looks like you gots a leak from your oil filter onto the headers :mrgreen:
 
I'm not sure that that is one. Usually you would put it in the pan so that it is submerged in the fluid. I suppose that it is in a passage that the fluid runs through and may work but the next problem is matching the right guage to an unknown sending unit.
 
yeah thats an old pictar. i'm due for an oil change, i'll make sure it seals up this time, maybe redo that gasket if i can.

Maybe i can just get a new sending unit and match up a gauge from there.
