Have a question for the board. Was there ever an application of the 700-R4 used in a g-body, particularly the 85-87 442s? I was under the impression that only the 200-4Rs were used in the g-body. I know of and have looked up the diffs for the Gs (7.5 or 8.5), but thought the onyl trans offered was the 2004R. Could the 700 have been used as a warranty replacement / special order for the cutty?

Am I missing something? :?:

The only 4-speed OD auto trans that was OEM in any G-Body was the TH2004R. The trans crossmembers and driveshaft lenghts are different so the TH700R4 and TH2004R are not directly interchangeable.
