Grind down the lever and a little off the collector flange. :wax:

Just do what I did..do away with the tree shifter and go all out and throw a B&M Pro Stick shifter in your ride.Problem solved 🙂, But if that's not an option ...........I'm with Blake442 and the rest of the guys...Grind away !!!

anakputa-That black wire is the battery cable, and i didnt bother putting the flywheel cover on.

I havent tackled the project yet,as i have bigger problems popping up like gas and coolant leaks.I am going to see how much i can grind down off of the arm and the flange, than go from there.I also new a new shifter cable as my old one was actually broken,so playing the waiting game is nothing new to me.

JBreu-I did do away with the stock shifter,i have a hurst dual gate two shifter in there now, since i have a manual valve body in the th-350 i thought I should make it fun to shift it 8) ,now i'm looking for a dual gate shifter cover from a 1979 Hurst/olds to cover up the big hole in the console.

the grinding was a success, the end does not come close to the flange but i've ran into yet another problem with the transmission arm,the front part of it where the column arm slips into hits the collector itself and wont let the transmission shift into first gear.I am either going to delete the column lock and get a toggle switch for the reverse lights or modify even more and retain the column lock.Has anyone ran into a problem like this and fixed it?or does deleting the column lock and installing a toggle switch for the reverse lights sound like a better approach? These are dynomax blackjack headers btw.
