Tropical Storms/Hurricanes Laura and Marco

I went to Pass Christian, Ms after Hurricane Katrina. I seen the water line from the storm surge at the eaves of 2 story homes. Box trucks in trees, entire areas with just slabs where homes used to be. In Biloxi there was a 7 story casino barge sitting on I90. Cars stacked 20 high under the overpasses in New Orleans. The devastation caused by these big gulf Hurricanes is unreal. I hope everyone on the coast in its immediate path gtfo of the way. Ill be saying a prayer for those in its path.

Dodged a bullet here, didn't even rain at my house. Lake Charles... not so lucky. Hope all our Cajun friends are safe.

Just watched the weather news for the gulf and the forecast was for 12 foot high water surge. Louisiana/Texas state line is supposed to be ground zero for the hurricane to come ashore and the spread is as far east as Florida. If you have a G-Body, put a trailer hitch on it and grab a U-haul, load it with as much as it can take, and head north to Idaho! Either that or figure out a way to get it up to the second floor in your house. All those houses along the gulf that got built on stilts or pilings better have been built high enough cause the water inbound for them could easily prove to be deeper than they are tall. Comments from survivors of Harvey say they are getting the hell out.

KInd of glad I live up here. All we have to contend with is 8 months of cold and snow, 3 and half months of cold and rain, and two weeks of heat. We do get flooding but that is from Thunderstorms, not Hurricanes.

Will offer a prayer of hope for the residents in the target zone.

Idaho is full. Please proceed to California.

So Hurricane Laura is now just a tropical storm that is headed for the east coast, and all is well? Ah, not so fast. There is always Marco waiting for his turn.
Let's see. 20 ft waves and a max wind speed of 196 miles an hour. Ol' Marco is going to have blow some to beat that cause Laura is in the record books for displaying the fifth highest winds for a hurricane.
As for emigrating to Idaho, make a right turn at Boise and head east to Wyoming.
