TRUNK LOCK WILL NOT OPEN

hey guys,

I am new to this site and i was trying to see if anybody can help me. the problem is the trunk lock on my 78 Monte Carlo will not open. any ideas on how a can remove the trunk lock???

any help will be greatly appreciated.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. My mechanic unscrewed a small panel under the trunk lip, directly in-line with the lock, used a screw driver to pop out the lock and replaced it with a new one. He mentioned that I was lucky a screw was used there as they are normally riveted on.

thank you it worked i also had a srew and i was able to take it off.
