Trunk torsion bar to shock swap

I've thought the same. I have a couple ideas but don't use the car enough to do it
Why? The torsion bars last the life of the car.

The torsion bars make noise when opening which has always irritated me. I think a shock set up would add weight though. I’m leaving mine alone for simplicity sake. Shocks also wear out…
It would give me more room for my subwoofer box I plan on having built. Need as much airspace as i can get.Why? The torsion bars last the life of the car.

This computes. However, I'm not sure how you would do that. I mean, getting rid of the torsion bars themselves is easy. I'm not sure about the boxes and whether it would affect the hinge points. I don't even know of a writeup that exists to do it and make it look good. I saw a couple of hack videos about some jury rigged crap, but that's all it was.
