Okay so im gunna be getting a stock grand national engine soon with everything but turbo. so I was wondering if there was a bigger sized turbo that i could get for a good price, and if so what turbo, how much, and what will I need to do to the stock engine? I would like to give the car some more power but not blow it up. Thank you, mike

The TA49 is a popular upgrade. You can go as big as you want, but when you get into the larger sizes there are other changes you must make. More air means more fuel is needed, so a larger set of injectors are required, as well as a fuel pump upgrade. A hot wire kit to the new pump is necessary to ensure full voltage to the pump. With increased fuel delivery, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator is used to ensure adequate fuel to the injectors to prevent the air/fuel mix from going lean and burning a piston. A torqe converter with a higher stall spped is needed too. And with more air in, an exhaust upgrade is needed to get it out. There is not a cheap turbo out there that I know of, but journal bearing turbo's are less expensive than ball bearing set ups, but the bb turbo's spool up way way faster. Check this site out, everything you could possibly want to know about TR's. http://www.turbobuick.com/
