Tv Cable adjustment

2004r's came in all sorts of cars, from Caddys to Pontiacs and everything in between. Most were not performance applications. Subsequent rebuilds weren't intended for performance either. What I'm getting at is it's "just the way they are". Stock they shift (in my opinion) mushy. To make them "better" requires a bigger servo, better governor, and a recalibrated valve body. All things you can do in your driveway. There were "better" versions of the transmission. They came in G/N's,turbo Regals, H/O oldsmobiles and 442's. There is a code resource somewhere on line that explains how to tell them apart from the regular ones. It has to do with coding on the tag by the tailshaft. Externally, they all look the same.
The TV cable is indeed the "heart" of making them work, but as you may have discovered, it won't fix everything. CPT, C/K, Bowtie overdrives are all good sources for stuff to make your transmission better. Check em out.
