Man that sucks. I guess you'll have to make a trip back to find out what the problem is. Any ideas on what caused it to over heat?

Bad water pump/radiator maybe. It was detonating going up some hills. Also the trans was acting up. Under part throttle it would slow the car down a little bit every second. Almost like a miss but you could feel it slowing the car down. If it was more than half throttle no issue. It's only a couple hour drive to go get it. It was about half the cost to take it to OKC instead of ft worth. I'm picking up a 6.0 pullout this weekend for it. Need to do the heads cam and converter on my wife's wagon before that though.

I guess you'll be towing it home for the final leg of the journey. Glad to hear you found a new powerplant for it.

Food for thought, a 4wd 4L80e will need to be completely disassembled to convert it to 2wd. No biggie if you are having one rebuilt though.
