Small town NY
Well, we got the first snow of the season last night. Of course they said we supposed to get more than we actually did and thats fine by me. I was out there at 11PM last night making a couple of passes with my little plow. Cleaned off my daughters Jeep while she was getting ready to go in for a 12-6.
I woke up this morning and she was outside shoveling the sidewalk so I wouldnt have to. My daughters a great kid.
That was at 7AM. Plowed my driveway and 3 of my neighbors. Usually I dont mind but this crap was wet and heavy. My little garden tractors almost 800lbs and it was struggling to push it. Glad Im done but I came in wet and cold. I hope the next snow isnt as wet as this one. This sucked. I really hate winter. LOL

I put asphalt milling on my driveway, being the genius that I am. Now, I can't use my plow because it will push them all off. The blower moves less of them, but is a pain. I really need to put some John Holmes extensions on the handles, so I don't have to hunch over. Might be a good project here shortly.

We were supposed to get 12-20", but were fortunate enough to get 40-48". The weather service claims the official total was 41". I headed out to plow for the 3rd time last night and found we had about 20" total so far, so I assumed we were close to the end of it. I WAS WRONG and so was the weather man. From 12:40am to 4:30am we got another 16-20 smh

I made it work, just a little late and tired lol.

Lake effect storm?

Nope, two storms collided is the word. The weather guesser idiots are calling it a Noreaster, which implies it came up the coast from the Caribbean, but this came from the central part of the country and hit some cold air in from Canada. Usually when we get snow here in amounts of a >6" it's in the 20's, but it was almost single digits most of the night through the storm. We might be up to 20 degrees now. North of us in the heavy lake effect area they got less than a foot.

Got 5 inches here in NJ, wet heavy stuff with an hard icy coating on top. Have to chop a square out of the snow before I can shovel it. First snowfall in 2 years and old man winter is making up for lost time. Normally we don' t get snow until after New Year's.

You’re not the only one that does.
I woke up to this sight this morning:

There’s a good 12 inches there alone, after I brushed off 6 inches before I left work yesterday.
That and PennDot couldn’t plow a road if I handed them a month’s work of my paychecks, it’s like they sent half a truck down my road and said that was good enough!

I added 4 spots of parking with crushed 2's. No plowing that lol - unless I want to be picking 3-4 yards of stones out of the yard.
