We were supposed to get 12-20", but were fortunate enough to get 40-48". The weather service claims the official total was 41". I headed out to plow for the 3rd time last night and found we had about 20" total so far, so I assumed we were close to the end of it. I WAS WRONG and so was the weather man. From 12:40am to 4:30am we got another 16-20 smh
I made it work, just a little late and tired lol.
Or, fix it?Snow keeps the venomous snakes And spiders away. Other than that I hate it...
I didn't work today but mostly because there is no work.
Cleaned up the 4" we had this morning. We have at least that much more now.
Dug my snowblower out of the shed, when I pump the primer bulb the rotten gas from last year drips out the bottom of the bowl... When I push the electric start button it makes a really loud buzzing noise and doesn't do anything. The belt has burnt through the plastic shroud. And that friction wheel thing that drives the drive wheels had needed replacing for a couple years now...
Guess maybe I'm shoveling this year.
I understand about wanting to move, but everywhere you can live has some type of possible issues. The only thing that makes the issues not concerning is money. So that’s my way of saying, I’m not rich lol.I saw that on the news. Im down on LI. If I had that much snow at one time my house would have a for sale that first day it was gone. We had that blizzard in '78 that was bad but for the most part the storms are pretty mild although the first storm of the season a few years ago was 28". That one also sucked.
Ive been plowing out my neighbors driveways since back in the mid 80s. I have a little JD 425 with a 54" power angle plow and a blower for the bad stuff. One year I did 13 driveways after one storm. It was fun back when I was younger. Now not so much. Ive cut back since my neck got screwed up. If I ever get to move off this high taxed sandbar Im going to a place with milder winters.
Ive lived on LI my whole life. Same small town. 67 people in my graduating class back in '72. Needless to say its changed quite a bit. Everyone from up west and citiots have decided they "want to get away from it all" so they moved out here. Theyre just to stupid to understand that when more of them come out here it turns the area into what they wanted to leave in the first place. They want the country life but complain about everything when they get here. I was hoping to get out of here but at this point I dont know if its ever going to happen.I understand about wanting to move, but everywhere you can live has some type of possible issues. The only thing that makes the issues not concerning is money. So that’s my way of saying, I’m not rich lol.
I like the snow during snow season. And I like spring like weather in the spring. I dislike when winter weather carries into May. I’d be in prison if I lived on Long Island, I’d commit suicide if I lived where I needed air conditioning year ‘round, I’d die from anxiety if it was possible that every hurricane or tornado season would mean my home could be expected to be leveled or damaged, and I hate fruits and nuts, so no Californication for me.
But that's multiple problems, and it was free...Or, fix it?
