UMI in Canada

I thought I lost the link to this store that is located in Toronto, Ontario. I have bought UMI products through this store and his prices are close to the prices at UMI even with it coming over the border. I don't think the prices are even at par with the money exchange. If you pick something up from him don't expect a big store similar to what's on his website. In fact he doesn't even have a store and that is how he keeps his overhead down. He ships just about everything that comes in. I picked up the parts I bought and had a nice conversation with him.

How much of a price mark up is it normally from stuff that comes from the states?

It varies but it is usually around 20% then you have the exchange and the fees to get it across the border. I bought the conversion upper control arms directly from UMI. The parts were about $184 so I paid a little over $200 can and then I made the error of hitting UPS instead of USPS. It ended up costing me $96 to have it shipped to me.

The delphi 600 box that is in my car is $799 up here and $612 in the US. When we raced we use to cry about the prices we paid compared to the racers in the US

we have about 1/10 of the population of the US so that's why we don't have the selection of products and the prices are higher. A decade or two ago our income on average was higher so that sorta equaled out the difference in price but the difference has dwindled down to about $1 hour more per hour in Canada. It is what it is so we just have to deal with what we got...
