Hello everyone. I am trying to find out what kind of motor I have. I have installed this motor in my 67 Pontiac Lemans.
The block numbers are 5549643A. Internet says it is a 1979 - 1980 350 V8 - H/O similar to "2" Block used for Hurst/Olds only.
I can not find the right parts for this motor. I bought a 1986 starter for it and I bought a 1974 fuel pump for it which was slightly different but it was a two line pump and not a 3 line pump that auto Zone tried selling me. And now I need valve cover gaskets for the motor. Which they cannot find.
Now my Quadrajet numbers are 17053309 and internet say it does not exist.... O woe is me. Anybody know what's going on???

Oldsmobile used 2 and 3 line pumps, usually A/C cars have the 3 lines. There are slightly different angles year to year. A 86 307 starter, if the small body one, big cars had the normal heavy duty one, will be hard starting hot. Any 64 to 90 Olds 260 to 455 V8 use the same valve cover gaskets, they have 10 holes will fit your 5 hole valve covers. Oldsmobile were shedding weight, they just filled half the holes on your motor. Your Qjet number can't be right. I would bet the first 3 is actually a 8, second 3 should be a 2 or 5, 0 would be a Chevy with manual trans. Is it a side or front inlet?

Thanks. I'll have to look elsewhere on the carb to find the numbers. I found those numbers on the back in a round circle.

Looks like a 75 and later Qjet. I would gues it is original to that 350. The number still doesn't make sense. It can't be a 83 carb, they changed to a 1708 number and there is no 7 carb designation. Here is my Canadian 83 non CCC carb.

I checked all over the carb and found no numbers anywhere else except the top and back of the carb
