Back around 4 years ago thereabouts I did some decals for 88 Monte SS emission, and headlight replacement underhood decal, and the GM Protection Plan window decal.
I put them on the Test Mule", my 2012 Ford Focus to give long term, real world test to check how they held up under 100 degree heat and 20 degree chilled conditions sitting outside over a course of a few years.
I haven't cleaned them, picked at them, or anything. I just let 'em ride where they were. I'm pretty happy with the results.

Wasn't a good place for the emission decal, so I put it under the hood and when closed, it was directly over the radiator.

A four-year out in the wild test and I think they held up fairly well.
I did get some feedback that even these polyester Monte emission decals had a similar problem to the original OEM decal. They seem to be prone to lots of radiator heat and tend to pucker and bubble up a bit in the EXACT same spot as the OEM decal. So there's that. I don't think anything is going to be able to overcome that, short of maybe installing a piece of heat shielding under the panel where the decal goes. YMMV, but I'm still happy overall with the longevity.
