Hi..

I have a 1980 Grand Le Mans sport coupe and recently added a 1970 Corvette LT-1 350 with turbo angle plus heads. The engine is making over 400 HP in it's current state with the Hooker Super Comp ceramic coated headers, along with some other upgrades.

I'm looking for a good, solid differential that will be bullet proof for my forays to the track. There are many different diffs available for G-Bodies, can anybody share what's the best way to go for a reasonable amount of cash. I live in Winnipeg, MB, Canada, and there are very few GN/T-Type/Turbo T ten bolts available, but I need a diff with at least a 3:73 ratio or higher up to 4:10. I would consider a bolt in 9" with a Detroit Locker, aftermarket axles, and basically a bolt in unit. Who's got the best deal on a set-up like this, with proven performance and reliability. I would consider a good used set-up if it's a bolt in designed for these cars.

Thanks,
Barry

I bought a 12 bolt rear off E-Bay from a '69 Chevell 4 years ago..........I paid 700.00 for it plus the ride. It came with 3.31. gears...It has since gad 3.73 gears last year and now 4.10 gears with a 700r4 this year (last year th400). I have over 500 hp and this 41 year old stock rear end works just great and I aint afraid to beat the sh*t out of it either.......A 8.5 rear end from the cars you just mentioned are a direct bolt in.....Guess what, so are the A body 12 bolt rear ends friend...all you need are the different upper control arms sold by UMI performance or Iceman racing.... 66-72 will suit you just fine..... You can always grab a 9" from Currie or some other place...What the f*k, keep your GM car all GM !!! 😀
