Ok well I have an 82 El Camino I took the a arms upper and lower clean and painted well I lost the shims and the paper whr I wrote how many whr on each side of each bolt can someone please give me an idea of how many go each side I know it's all the different but I know it's usually about the same on all oh yeah it had a 3.8 v6 gonna put a 350 if it matters thanks

On my 80 Monte, pass rear-9 shims(3/8"), front-3 shims(3/16"), drivers rear-4 shims(1/2"), front-6 shims(11/16"). They are all different thicknesses tho. Hope this helps.

Is picking up some new shims and then having it towed to an alignment shop an option?
I would think your going to need one anyway considering you lost the ones (and the order of them) that were on there.

If you look at the rust on the threads of the bolts you might be able to see where the nuts were sitting with the shims installed
