I love how red states find any chance to hump the democratic elect.
Give it a rest for christ ****ing sakes. I'm about to stop coming on this forum because of this sh*t in every single thread.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, I've excluded topics in the "off topic" forum from showing up on the home page. I think that's for the best.

Thank you GP403. It's not that it's a huge deal, really. Just sometimes when you come on here looking for car stuff to talk about the whole home page is filled up with this kinda stuff and I can't say about everyone else, but as far as myself. Cars, are the reason I come here. And more time's then not political stuff get's everybody in a big *ss argument anyway.

As far as anything political goes... Obama won, good riddance Bush thanks for all the ****ed up ways you've managed to screw up our country. Oh yeah, and thanks to all the pecker heads who helped him do it by voting him in.

Being a pecker head has nothing to do with the candidate I chose. For the record I voted for McCain. Not because I thought he would be carrying on Bush policies, but because I remember the Carter and Klinton Administrations and the way they restricted commerce and proliferated taxes. You might not be old enough to remember.

Because of all you we might just loose all American auto manufactures. Great, nice.

I don't see how the last eight years of Bush leadership had much to do with the last forty years of poor business decisions GM and Ford has made. Chrysler would have failed if the government hadn't stepped in. Lee Iaccoca managed to spin it around but they made the same poor decision the others did.

As far as they guy who has a flag upside down in his yard, he's a veteran and as far as I'm concerned has a little more right to his opinion then most people, and I'm on his side 100 percent. We got completely f--ked by our last decision of who to make president, now if we just can, can't we just sit back and hope we go in a better way then we have in the past how many years? Is there any support for the people's (as a whole) decision? Administrator....can't we talk about cars anymore around here? I mean isn't there an I'm sorry Bush isn't the retarded *ss president anymore forum most of these people can go too?????? :x

I think Bush did a fine job even though you seem to think he is retarded. I don't subscribe to your desire to just sit and hope(Common thread with the elected I guess). I'm more of a get up and out and actually do something about the problem. I am looking forward to the 2012 election and hoping there is a Palin on the ticket. A lot can change in four years. I hope we are still speaking English, brandishing weapons and free to move about as we please.

I agree that the problems faced by American auto makers are not the responsibility of the US government. What needs to happen is that either the Unions agree to a 50% pay cut, or the union contracts get canceled under chapter 11 reorganization. Then the big 3 would be free to move to right to work states where unions do not rule the day, and they could invest the money into better products rather than higher wages. It sucks, but they may need to use the opportunity to eliminate the old age pensions they are currently paying due to contracts from the 1950's and 60's. If they don't, the companies will fail and there will be no income for anyone.

The automakers also need to produce great average cars, not just the mediocre at best products they make now. This would have to go on for some time to win back customers like me who know of the problems people tend to have when their GM/Ford/Chrysler product goes out of warranty. When consumers can start to expect 200,000 reliable miles from American cars like they do from the Japanese, they will come back. However, I am not going to buy a unreliable car for the same money as a reliable one just so that I can keep some union slob in a job. That's not my problem. I will not ruin my economic future for the benefit of someone else.

It's better than seeing a flag burned. Coming from a very military family, members have served from WWII on up to today, I can see his point of view. I have the utmost respect for every veteran past and present. I think he has every right to question and be upset with the government he served for. This is his way of protesting.

Veterans of all people have earned the right to display the flag in whatever direction they choose. They are the ones who have paid the price to keep us free. Let's just hope we don't loose our hard won freedom for the sake of some platitudes and a few doctor's visits.
