using rubber trans line for cooler.

That's exactly what I did.............You will have no issues.....

It might be a good idea to flare the line where you cut it to give the clamp/hose some type of ridge to stop at so it doesn't blow off. A friend of mine kept having problems with splicing rubber lines into the hard line on his Jeep, and didn't realize he needed some sort of flare.

good idea im gonna put a small flare and use 2 hose clamps on the steel line and the trans cooler i got has the barb fittings with the ridges. and u really got to tug on the hose to get it off so i think ill be okay with those fittings.

It would probably be good enough to do a 'bubble' flare, but it requires a different tool than a regular flare.

yeah i got the set. it has the tool for single flare and the small fittings for the double flare.

Im glad you said that. I meant to put that in my first post. But I rewrote the post and forgot.
