I discovered I need to run a new fuel line for my return (Sniper EFI) due to damage on my 5/16 line, So I'm going to use 3/8" line like my feed. It converts to 5/16 hose for the last 18-24" as it goes to the pump/bucket as I don't really feel like dropping the tank again. Will this have the same effective flow / capacity as if it was 5/16 the whole way?

More curious than anything.

yes. return pressure should not exceed 2psi. book spec. but in reality 0psi.

Won't hurt anything. If your pump cannot overpower the 3/8 line, then the 5/16 return will be ore than adequate whether it's for a short distance or the entire length.
