USPS/Amazon Logistics Suck

I really liked amazon about 5 years ago but it has gotten significantly worse. I'm pretty much over it. Their "free two day shipping" actually use to mean "two days". And you used to get access to amazon TV and movies and Amazon music when you bought prime, not anymore. The prime membership used to be a steal at $99 a year, and it still would be a steal even at $120 a year, but only if the still included all the other stuff and two day shipping was actually two days. I'm probably still gonna renew my prime membership, but it's not as good of a deal as it once was.
Joe, you get more than you ever did.

I work for Amazon. I agree there has been some "hiccups" with delivery time, but you don't get to be one of the largest companies in the world without a few "growing pains" along the way. As also stated above, most delays are around the Holidays (now), but I assure you, they are a Customer- Driven company. My shift processes about 60K packages each night. And that is just certain zip codes in my area. Other Amazon facilities do the same in my (Houston, TX) area, each night. I buy car parts through Amazon, and you would be surprised at the amount of times they are cheaper than Jegs/Summit/Speedway/O'Reilly/Advance etc. When I have the part# I run it through Amazon to compare, just as Mike, and others here do. Prime Membership may not be for everyone... it depends what you do with your Membership. I don't even watch Prime Video, but I definitely save money on products, and shipping each year. I also max out my Company Discount, LOL . It is funny how logistics are laid out, but that is above my pay grade. It works for most people. 100 million people can't be wrong...

As I have explained in the past the Post Office has no problem shipping work to another facility to save money. If that one near you is approaching overtime overload and the far away one is twiddling it's thumbs with no work then off it goes.

I always send by mail and choose that option if it is availble when i buy something. The last thing I ordered on Amazon I think they got UPS to deliver cause it took weeks

I used to work for one of the largest freight carriers, now retired. The LOGISTICS division sets up the routes to the company benefits. They cannot use what appears to be "LOGIC" when it comes to transportation routes. Why do airlines fly to major cities opposite the direction you need to go and do a layover. It's all about costs costs and the cost of costs......
Haul as much as you can when you can because empty trailers pay very little. There used to be INTERSTATE rules and then there was INTRASTATE rules as well which certain carriers were NOT allowed to haul WITHIN a state but could haul OUT of state and then back INTO state.
Government regulations are always at the forefront of business and businesses need to comply with the regulations in order to stay in business.
So patience is a virtue. I doubt your dog will mind the extra day............

Would this be the reason why a package shipped from West Stockbrige, Ma on 25 Jan scheduled for a 28 Jan delivery that arrived at the local bulk center in Warrendale, Pa on 26 Jan ended up in Nashvile, Tn the night of 28 Jan to be sent out again the early hours of 29 Jan? I'm an hour & a half from the bulk center. I have had too many packages end up in way out of the way locations before making it to me regardless of what type of USPS service used.

Warrendale PA to Indiana PA via Tennessee... That must've been some wrong turn.
