whats up gbf!
I've read the lines to fuel an sbc have to be routed to come up the passengers side, as apposed to how the existing v6 lines routed up to the drivers side in my cutlass. so I'm going to be getting rid of those v6 lines.
My question is, would i be able to use any factory v8 lines i get from a salvage yard?(assuming i wouldn't be able to use wagons el camino, or 4door lines, but possibly monte carlo etc so long as the vehicle is an original v8)

I have seen this done different ways on these cars, if your car is complete changing the whole fuel line could be tricky, but yes you could get one from another car, my V8 Cutlass comes out in the correct spot to use a short rubber line to a SBC pump. I think I would flare the line behind the crossmember under the motor and use a union and continue on with the steel line to the hole in the crossmember on the right side, that's just me tho. The line doesn't actually have to run down the right side it just has to get to that side in the front of the car

I would not get lines from a salvage yard. This is one thing to do right the first time. The malibus have the line on the passenger side. Being that the frames are the same unless it's a wagon or elky. I don't see why you can't use one from a malibu or monte.

thanks^
i will probably go new.
out of lack of experience and curiosity why is salvage yard a bad idea, years of fuel corrosion?

There will still be some corrosion even between the frame and the body. I just noticed you're not in the snow belt so you may not see as much corrosion but I would go new anyway if you need a replacement.

While I had my body off I pulled the old line and bought new 3/8" brake line and bent it to match the old lines up to the point it made the turn to cross the frame. that helped a lot.
