Thread bump,

Question on these valve covers,

All the OLDSMOBILE valve covers I have seen come off gold engines. Weren't 72 engines and before gold and they switched to blue in 73? Also, weren't 72's the last year for points?

My valve covers I just got monday came off a 8 headed 350 that was swapped in a diesel buttless cutlass. Hasn't been licensed since 92 so although a lot could have changed in the 20 years before it hit the junk yard, it hasn't been touched in almost the 30 years its been in the junk yard for sure.

(bonus points for a buttless cutlass with factory diesel and heat only)

Olds engine colors denote engine size in the earlier years:
330/350=gold
400=bronze
425=red
455=blue (H.O./W-30=red)

All 68-69 455 are red
