valve seal replacement

Cool.

So I won't have to do anything with the exhaust valves, correct? Or am I misunderstanding. just making sure

valves have two seals, one the rubber part you want to replace, the second being a hardened seat for the exhaust which is in the bottom side of the head and the intake seal which is literally the head itself.

ignore the other "seal" and replace all 12 umbrella seals up top. if you only replace the intakes, you could be very disappointed and angry at yourself if you get smoke afterwards....lol replace them all.

Allright, thanks for the clarification.

So you just have to depend on the valve seat for the exhaust to do its job then. I see.

Now I just need time and some extra patience

Yep. I know it sounds silly, but it's true. Might want to do a compression test on the cylinders to see the overall condition of the engine. Worn valve stem seals don't often cause a lot of smoke, usually just a little when taking off after idling at a stop.

hmm...

I just started her up last night, and took a pic. it's in my album. that was after like a minute and a half of idling.

when you start it up, its ok, but then it's like this, but the engine is still cold, so. idk the pic was after I hit the gas a little, but it just kept smoking like that.

not sure, haven't really stood around too look at it, she's in the garage, and it's always snowing out. But every time I run her theres black water like liquid that comes out of the exhaust tip, and where the pipe joins the muffler.

You sure it's not just water vapor, or is there a blueish tint to the exhaust? I can't really tell from the pic...

as said you can't tell from the pic...if its just white(not bluish) smoke and it goes away after you drive the car for a little while it could just be water condensed in the muffler that is burning off
