Long story short, an engine I have has a 280h cam and has single springs wth a dampner. My dad ordered his 262h cam kit,and it comes with dual springs with a dampner. The 280h is alarger cam than the 262, so this brings up my question : did the engine builder who built this engine break the cam with one spring in and not put the inside in, or does the inside on the 262 not need to go in? I just would hate to get the adapter to fill the air with cylinders and then not even need it.

If it matters the 280 was on a sbc and the 262 on a sbo

ive used some single springs with dampers on a 640 lift cam. it all depends on the springs. what kinda lift they can withstand and the seat pressure. only way to know for sure, if you dont have the right tools is to pull on a take it to an engine shop so they can do some measurements for you. or just buy a new set of springs. you can get some good springs from comp products for under a 100.
