Very frustrated with my stereo...

I'm wondering if it has something to to with my distributor. Why else would it make noise until 2100 rpm or so, and then all of a sudden be gone?

So now I tried grounding the hood. No difference

Alternator may be going bad or need a suppressor. High and low voltage regulator may be bad internally.

Is there a way to test that? I had my original alternator tested, and it was fine. I also had this one tested, and after I put it in it still made the noise and tested fine.

craigslist the radio and get a new one
