An ex GM(the 80's) assembly line worker told me they were under pressure to produce numbers no matter what kind of crap went out the door!

Sad, really sad! I'm thinking that there is a similar sentiment at times in American business these days too.. Sad really sad..
 
I bought all of the various lowers that were specified for my T-type, back in the day, and I found that the 457915 "pinks" were the stiffest, so I replaced all of my lowers and the 6 missing lower bushings with 457915's.

You will notice the difference on the first drive. My cars are rust free and the swap took minutes. I pity anyone with a rusty car, however. Swapping just lowers could take days.
