The short version is , I nailed a pothole a few weeks back and killed a rim.

I threw on some temp rims and tires. Decided to bite the bullet and get some 15x8 Soft 8s. Can't beat under $172 for 4, delivered!!!

The car has 235/60 up front and 255/60 out back.

Yes, it does need to be lowered a bit but I drive the car everyday so it will be mild when it happens.

Those wheels look good on there. How's the clearance in the rear with the 255/60's? and what backspace do these rims have?

Thanks,
Jack

Looks pretty good. That's the same tire size combo on my 442, but I run a 15x7 instead of an 8. With that 8" rim you should've stuffed some 275/60's under there!

And I say leave it the height it's at.

would 275s fit on a cutlass without sticking out the sides?

They are listed at 4" backspace, but I measure them at 3.75".

The pic in the lower right is with 275s on it, had to use a 3/8" spacer to keep them off the rail with 15x7 Rally rims. I measured the rallys at 4", go figure.

I have the spacers in now with the 255 but eyeballing it, looks like they can come out. They will come out when I have a chance.

I have 30x9 on the Cutlass and have had 275s on the Grand Prix.

On the 15x7 rim the sidewalls bulge out more, using the 15x8 straightens them out a bit allowing you to stuff more tire.

Paint? Someday. Right now doing preventive stuff, keeping rust at bay.

Plus it is fun beating up on clean, shiney cars in a rusty wagon!

I got them a SCUMMIT. I was really surprised when there was no shipping on top of their flat rate $11.95.

I weighed them and used my UPS account to see what it would cost to ship them back just for the heck of it, $85  .

The Cragar center caps are big and bulky so I passed. Should have searched more on SCUMMIT, found black ones for $6.00 each.

Will have to wait for my next order.
