Just thought I'd update this thread. It turns out that it wasn't getting enough juice to the latch solenoid, so I wired up a relay and it works like a champ. One push of the button and it opens right up. 🙂

Thanks Steve,
It was pretty much wired in the same fashion as it was done by the factory. I rectified the problem using a simple Bosch relay. It just needed an additional jolt.
