I just put a set of Eibach rear springs that said it lowers the rear .8 of an inch. It lowered it an inch nicely, mine are progressive rated so they will bounce back up when you add weight. The ones you have linked are not, so any weight in the back seat or trunk will make the car squat. The Eibach's were under $75.-...

Sounds sweet to me !!
Got a part # ???

The progressive rated springs do not bounce back up when you put weight in the car. The give a softer ride running on the lower spring rate section of the spring and the higher rated section will come into play when needed. I have the linear rated springs so they are consistent throughout the compression and rebound. My car does not squat when weight is added. I have the 83 Phoenix rear springs cut and use the F body isolator for the open ended spring on top

I did not mean they will bounce on there own back to the original height, In my expeirence they come back to there stock form faster than the non progressive. I am no Spring expert,I gave my .02 cents and thats it. Sorry you had to step up and correct me...
GuysMonte- here is the link if you choose to use it. I just put a pic in the Olds info lonk about lowering a Cutlass. That has the rear spring I am using. Steve

Thanks for that link Steve, the price sure is right !!! Although it lists that as a quanity of 1,but it must mean one pair.So now it comes down to which is better,a progressive rated spring or a non progressive spring.I'm sure there are pros & cons for each one,and each manufacturer will tell you that there product is the better one.But I sure would like to hear more about each one, lets hear some comments people ...
I'm looking for better handling more so than a better ride, after all, this is my summer toy,not a family car LOL

I have the Eibach springs if you want them. The fronts have been cut 1/2 coil and the backs are uncut...$40 plus shipping and I'm in Ontario so the shipping shouldn't be expensive..and if you want just the back, $25 plus the ride

By any chance did you do any back to back testing to see how the 2 different springs compared ??
Guy

if you mean if I tested the Eibachs with the current ones I didn't do any tests that would give me numbers to rely on. Also I changed the rear end at the same time with a 67 rear which is 2.5" wider than the G body rear so that alone will make the car more stable around corners so even if I took it around the track to get lap times 2 variables were changed making it impossible which caused the improvement and how much each contributed. The Eibachs compared to the stock springs were an improvement but even there the stock springs were old so it's not an accurate comparison..

and I replied to your pm
