My best answer is to get some 98-03 Blazer RWD spindles and use those brakes. They're easy to pull and the brakes use twin piston calipers. Some have said using the Blazer brakes improved braking. If you can afford it later, you can get a pair of bracket adapters and bolt on Corvette brakes.
I pulled a complete pair of Spindles for under 100 bucks. That included the spindles, the calipers, the PABs and hubs. The only things I didn't take were the rotors. The spindles alone cost 50 dollars for a pair, that's as cheap as you get when getting parts together to upgrade. The spindles also bolt right on, no alignment needed, but getting it checked wouldn't hurt, your car may need an alignment anyway.
Also you can pull the rear brakes off a 4th gen f-body from 98-02 and with slight modifications to your existing rear they bolt up.
No need to buy some expensive aftermarket brakes to have better braking. In fact you can do better with OEM parts in some cases and for less money too.
