I don't think the H/O came with this much orange peel either...

even if that was real the placement is wrong.that would never be so low on the trunk lid like that.maybe he did a tbi swap or something but i say it is not original.

Glad pontiacgp said something because that doesnt look like original paint. If it is factory the factory was slipping that day!

I do agree that the paint looks pretty shabby....but the interior was pretty close to mint...and the undercarriage was very clean as well...oh well....I just thought Id ask...had me wondering.

That's a cheap 'triple black' paint job like I got on a Silverado once, which is also where that badge most likely came from too !

That paint job isn't so bad. Just a little wetsanding with some 80 grit sandpaper and voila! And sadly, no FI 83 H/O's.

85 and newer 4.3 on G bodys, 86/87 V6 and V8's through the rest of the GM lineup. I dont believe any of the Olds engines got TBI until early 90's on some B bodys
Wasn't the 307 the last GM to have a carb and it ended with the 90 model year - don't remember any going with a TBI. The 91s and later were Chevrolet 262 V6 & 305/350 V8.

80 grit! more like 320 or 200 grit for starters to knock down the peel. Looks resprayed IMO, just look at the bumper itself compared to the trunk lid even the reverse light reflector looks painted too

My second car ever was a 2 door 1983 Cadillac Coupe DeVille with factory fuel injection. I'm not sure what type of engine was in it. I know it was the stock engine tho. Years ago, their was a guy who took a gas tank outta a tbi Monte Carlo and put it in his Cutlass and took the tbi setup off a fuel injected Cadillac and made it work on his Cutlass' stock 307. I saved the pics but I gotta dig thru my external hard drive. Now that I think about it, that thread was on Oldspower maybe around 07 or 08.
