i have an 85 cutlass supreme iv been working on and noticed today after about 2 days of solid rain that there is puddles of water on the divers side and passengers side behind the front seats. I can't find the leak and i can't really find any other wet spots...I this a common problem? and does anyone know where the leak could be?

Thanks

How good are the seals around the windows? That would be a good spot for water to get in the car. Also could be dried out adheasive around the windshield.

time to take it to a self wash place and spray it till you find where the leak(s) is/are

My cutlass has a small messed up spot around the rear side window and it leaks a little back there.

could be window weatherstrip. if its passenger rear it may be a leak from the ac/heater box seal. may be a combination of a few things.

Check the drain on the passeneger side where the A/C crap is on the firewall. I fought this problem for years. I would get inches in the back seat area. When I put new floor pans in the water would fill up until the holes for the seat belts and go out them....until I put the belts back in. I would put plastic bags in the cowl, I bought a high dollar water resistant cover, seals cracks in the cowl. I went to an A/C delete panel from ACdelete.com and drilled a new hole in that for the drain and absolutely no leaks. it is bone dry. My only guess is that the drain was clogged and it filling up the thing behind the glove box and over flowing onto the floor.

ok thanks for the help guys, i will check out the car as soon as i get time

there should be a drain plug cover that you can pull off in the mean time so that situation doesn't get worse, it should be where people put their feet on the floor when their sitting in the back seat
