While I appreciate the sentiment, I never had to wear Navy blue camos. My hat's off to everyone who endured Iraq and Afghanistan...I hid out in a ship designed to sink.
Don't have anything that far back, these are about 2005ish I think....still have the same car but it sure don't look the same. Some stuff is better now, some not so much.
Thank god the I got rid of those pants!
Greetings Guys; Well for those that have read some of my short stories Ya know that I would be postin' sooner or later to this thread. Thank you Ed1948 for starting it. I would guess that I'm two years older than you? I've posted so MUCH exhaust gas that some times (OK most times) I forget where & what I've already posted. We were poor back in the 50's/60's. But before I could even drive we used to bolt side shaft lawn mower engines to bicycles. I used a VW Bug crankshaft pulley at the rear wheel to get a better top speed. My 3.5hp chomper was as fast as the local hot shot with his Rupp 5hp mini bike. I made the drive belt very tight so that I didn't lose rpm's to the centrifugal clutch. That way it also was a push-start. The chrome exhaust is an Electro-Lux vacuum cleaner suction tube. I'm thinking 1967 or so. Fun times!
Bonnewagon, This just proves my theory that us with the affliction will Hot Rod anything. I had tried a model airplane engine, but it only worked on the flat & down hill, I should of tried two engines! Sometimes it amazing that we have lived this long, or maybe I should say we made it through our kid & teen years. Ole' Bob.
I agree with you totally on tipping our hat to the folks that served in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Still, thanks for your service. I wouldn't call your job in the Navy a glamour job so I'm grateful to folks like you who will do it and help keep this place what it is.
No pics but my 10 to 13 age consisted of hot rodding my bicycle with cigarette cardboard held by clothes pins in the spokes. I had the first V8 with 4 clothes pins on either side of the wheel. Depending on the carboard spacing and thickness I could simulate a wicked cammed idle. - ahh, good times! I used to drag race my bicycle - a 3 speed SuperCycle with the Sturmy Archer shift. Upshifts were preselected and the shift was done 'automatically' by momentarily easing off the pedals. The other guys were p**sed because they only had single speed bikes and I'd take them in the top end.

I'll have to see if I have any pics of the 84 S10 Blazer, the 89 C1500 Cheyenne RCLB, or the 05 Sierra RCSB. I'll also have to clean the pollen off of my daily and get a current pic to post up. It's about the same except it now has a Snug Top on it and smoked front and rear lights.
