Well I have been having some issues with my 383 inluding but not limited to lol, oil leak out of the back of the intake, smoking, timing, running rich, and last night i was sick of the oil leak to start with so i started tearing apart and had the intake off in a matter of about 30 minutes, well got it all back together today, ended up going with edelbrock gaskets i believe 7201's torqued everything to spec, now what im wondering is how long should i let it sit before i crank it up and see if i got the distributor right? GOING TO WAIT UNTIL MORNING BEFORE I MESS WITH IT.

Next project for the weekend after getting it cranked up and making sure everything is A ok on that project is wiring in the MSD 6A box i picked up last week. I believe i have a "5 pin distributor" but i need to be sure for the wiring diagram, How do i verify? GOT THIS FIGURED OUT, SHOULD BE A EASY INSTALL

After the intake is good and my MSD 6A box is wired in i am going to play with the air/fuel mixture, any tips or how to's?

I figured since have a 3 day weekend i mine as well get the SS running right instead of sitting on the couch watching the tube. ANY help will be appreciated fella's!!! :friday:

Well come to find out i have the 4 pin module so i ordered the harness' i need through summit P/N 8860 and 8861 should ship monday or tuesday hopefully a project for next weekend! total was 20.85 oreillys wanted 35 for the both and would be here thursday but i was not going to pay that much more for the same thing just because i have to wait another couple days.

Well after 3 days i now have a new fuel pump, distributor, intake gaskets and a loss of knuckle skin. i still believe i am a tooth off on my distributor and need to correct that, change my plugs, and set the timing. Wow what a weekend.
