Hello everyone, I would be one of the Gbody sisters...lol...
I just learnt of this site as I was needing some opinion/assistance with a cowl induction hood that my sister is putting on her 85 Grand Prix. We were unsure of what to do with the circular spring/hinges and possible hood pins. Many thanks to 454muscle for being so quick to responding to my questions.
My name is Susan and I myself have an 87 Olds 442, Grey and silver combo with t-tops, still all original, only been painted once, still the original 307HO, its mint inside and out. I've had it since 1999. My younger sister has an 85 Grand Prix which used to belong to our dad. She learnt to drive in it so he passed it onto her. The car itself is still all original and mint as well. She has had it for about 6 years and about 5 years ago painted it - its silver on the sides and maroon on the top, we had the vinyl roof taken off. It was fun stripping the car down, looked like a stock car racer when we took it into the shop for painting. Gave us time to spit polish all the chromes and such for when it was ready to put it all back together. About two years ago she replaced the original 305 with a 350HO crate engine and headers, dual exhaust, the whole works.
I've always been big into cars thanks to our dad and older brother and used to do car shows with my brother and then on my own. Then she caught the bug too. Now we both take in the show n shines around the city and hangout places and are know as the g-body sisters. Very few g-bodies around here, more often than not you may see a MonteSS or a
Grand National, but not the GPs or Olds. Its a fun hobby. Other than the gbody's, I've got a sweet 87 Full size bronco as my everyday driver and my sister a 94 Jeep YJ, both of which are also original and in excellent condition. Had to have 4x4 toys for everyday driving....lol.
I'll put up some pictures of our cars when I have a chance. Nice to see more g-bodies out there, love these cars. I'll take some photos of her GP once the hood is on, she's also getting a rear spoiler put on too, should look pretty wicked.
Nice to be part of this forum and looking forward to chatting with you and learning some more as I go, nice to see a g-body forum where we can all chat about our awesome vehicles.
