Tucks up nice and tight.
Also got a deal on a set of flat top pistons, so I've got them ready to go, me and a buddy pressed all the pins out and installed the new pistons on the rods, and I got the block mocked up last night to see how deep in the hole these new pistons would be and Im gonna have to have the block decked .026 so i can use a typical replacement gasket that is .038 compressed so I can have 9.6 to one compression I want to set the compression up with the largest head gasket, so that If I want to raise the compression, I can just go to a thinner head gasket. Aslo picked up a 95 LT1 from a firebird, gonna use the cam from that in my 350 and it came with another pile of parts from a b body LT1 everything except the block and crank. get pics of that later.
Looks great Jim! You swapping in that 350 soon?

Its in work as we speak, I may have changed plans, This block I have has 2 hairline cracks at the outer starter bolt area, threads are fine, I dont think its going anywhere anytime soon, so I might not waste money on having it decked, I looked at the set of flat top LT1 pistons and I might use those instead to bring me back up to factory Piston height. Id hate to spend 100 or so bucks having it decked and then the ****ing starter fall off.. But the pistons where in a box in a shed and rats built a nice cozy nest on top of them and they have a little bit of corrosion on a few but Ive managed to get the rings off of two and get them freed up on the pin, and stuck them in my heated ultrasonic cleaner with some ZEP all purpose cleaner and we will see. This engine is only temp anyway until I get around to getting all my LT1 swap stuff together.

finally got off my cheap *ss and ordered my spacers, Now the wheels fill out the wheel well like they should with the extra inch to the outside instead of the inside.

Rides a little better now also since the fronts are further out on the suspension arc they have more leverage against the spring. it was a bit stiff in the front before, but you could tell it wasnt a stiff spring issue.

Ahhhhhhhh. An old-school SBC. Yaaaay!

A few pages pack...where did you find the mandrel-bent behind-the-wheel exhaust pipes?
