i had that prob with my elky buy it was on the passenger side. the drain in the heater fan shroud was clogged with pine needles and leaf litter, so i took out the heater core and un-gunked the area and now no more leaks...from there. i also had a gap between the windshield and the A pillar that had no seal... :|

My Cutlass leaks in through the heater box when it sits, (basically when it rains or you wash it).. I'm gonna fix that problem here shortly though and send it off with the trash man...

my weather stripping around my door and window felts are gooone...yet i never have an water come inside my car....but i aint gonna risk it...im gonna buy a whole weather stripping kit asap...i seen some on mikes montes for a lil over 220 i think...anyone else know another place that sells the complete kit for cheap?

i was gonna ask this same question at some point cause i get a mild leak when the car is parked over night and its raining, or if i wash it. now i got some ideas to go off of to, cause im going to be replacing my carpet and doing some floor work soon so i dont want that getting ruined. so even though it aint my thread, good info

same problem in my GP,
- on the passenger side, it is leaking in from the firewall seam,
- on the driver side, it is coming in from higher up somewhere, and leaks down from the left footwell :wtf: ... Still have yet to locate it.

my fenders are made of rust, so I'm afraid to take that side appart, incase it can't get back together. And I really don't wanna take the dash appart.

the leak rotted out my floors and ruined my carpet. I had the floor redone last year, and still have yet to locate the leak :blam:

here's some pics to illustrate the extent of the problem...

That's exectly where my issue is I am almost 100% of that.......If you figure it out before I do, Let me know....I think TTopTony was right...MIght have to remove the inner fender and reseal that area...

Just for sh*ts & giggles you may want to pull off your windshield trim and check the A pillar at the base near the glass. My Regal had a small rust hole on the right side of the car that was driving me crazy trying to find. Glassed the hole, no more leak.

I did some research on this last year, and asked a few guys on the forum.

leaking under the windshield trim is very common. But it is a problem adapted from older GMs, like A-bodies. And because of the location of where the leak is coming out from, I am convinced my leak is much farther down. I've also done several water tests, and it only leaks when water is sprays *lightly* at the area under the wiper motor.

From more research, it seems it is far easier to remove the outer+inner fender as an assembly. I believe there are 5bolts (can't recall locations). The tricky bit is getting it back in, because you need to use a "push forward and in at the same time" motion, and it often scratches the door. It may be easier just to remove the door as well for the process.

Anyways... before I do anything, I'm gonna start by taking out the wiper motor, and seeing if I can get in from there. If not, I will make the difficult decision of either removing the fenders, or the dash.

OR! I may just pretend non of this is happening, ha ha

... same to you... if you figure it out before me, let me know.

much thanks!

Reviving this thread, because I just fixed this problem this weekend and it's raining like crazy and my passenger floor is bone dry. I'll post pics of what I did (firewall to HVAC box seal).
