Alright Nic, you've lost all credibility with 'Wasn't half bad'. If you would've finished it with 'at cleaning you out' then I'd agree.

You haven't lived until you dealt with the aftermath of a 6 pack of Genesee Cream Ale.
Compared to some of the then examples of Canadian brewers called, "beer". Genesee tasted just fine, Thank You Very Much. As far as the consequences of consuming beer, well, a good flush out would be true as a result for any of them. Trick was to time it right; swill the stuff down on Saturday and by Sunday suppertime the good earth would move and all that feeling of bloat would get flushed away. (LOL)

Bent Paddle Coffee Ale????? H*ll I can get the same result with just coffee!! Must be a small house or specialty brewery, and in Duluth, no less. That steak looks totally appealing; have not had a steak worthy of the title since before Covid closed the border. Has to be a family kitchen somewhere, maybe along the I-94 corridor.

Bushmills, and Black Bush into the bargain!! How didja manage to sneak that off the auld sod me bucko?? Thought that stuff was being hoarded overseas for better days. Thinking here that you might ought to leave a stiff belt or two still in the bottle for a toast to welcome the New Year. Couldn't hurt.

Absinthe??? Good chore they managed to rework the recipe to eliminate the wormwood. That stuff was both poisonous and addictive. All that aside, it looks tempting but not for me. Enjoy

Nick, this version still has the grande wormwood in full measure, including the thujone.

The poisonous/addictive... well, any alcohol is poisonous in enough quantity, and leach from the copper kettles is rumored to have played a role, and the addiction was a mix of alcoholism then to seeking the feeling from the thujome, but there was a lot of bad press to a drink that, for a time, was as popular in artistic circles as wine.... think of the whole hemp fiber vs wood fiber for paper pulp issue.

I learned a lot about absinthe from my years living in New Orleans, but I'd take a hard pass at wormwood free formulations.
