OK, so I'm planning on replacing my cam this summer. And would like some input on what cam to get.
My car is an '80 malibu. Factory 305/350 with less that 60,000 kms on it.
The car is basically bone stock. Except for duals (from manifolds, through glass packs, and out under the rear bumper), and 3.73s.
In the past 6 months I rebuilt the carb, put in new plugs, wires, coil, module, cap, rotor, pcv, and a few other basic tune up things like replaced the rubber hoses, air filter, and oil change.
Basically what I want is the biggest cam I can go with useing stock heads and manifolds.
I'm not sure what I'm gonna do for an intake. Might keep the stock one, or got for a performer (or something similar). Would like to keep the quadrajet on too.
I'll also be changeing the oil pump, timeing set, maybe the water pump, and feul pump (if needed).
So what cam would you guys recomend? I was thinking of just going with an edelbrock performer. But I haven't really heard to many good things about Edelbrock cams. What do you think?
