What did you do at work today?

Finished up a new complete compressed air piping system today. Did absolutely everything myself except for supplying and installing the actual compressor.

I've spent most of my work day with this drilling crew again, and reading GBF, and elcaminocentral.com.

Showed up onsite at 7am, but because the drill crew wasn't ready, we never got going until 11am. Three dumptrucks sitting idle for 4hrs is expensive. Now at 4pm, we are nearly finished, and it has started raining.

Got to put the new truck to work for its intended purpose today. White ladder truck maxed out at 45 feet and the ladder portion has been in service since 1968. Yellow truck is from early 90's. Today it put 2 people in it's buckets and set them on the roof with room to spare. LOL, not gonna lie. It's a little sketchy being 65 feet up then twisting 90 degrees to the right and setting it back down on the roof. I don't like heights. Me looking down I know there is no way to survive the fall if it all goes to hell. Doubtful my 200lbs will flip a 5 tonne but the brain does weird things when you are up there. I've been told to just look for the softest place to land. 🙂

I hung a new microwave yesterday just in time to switch gears to today's project, my busted *ss husk.

Being unable to run and active duty military puts a huge bullseye on you. The Covids have put a big damper on unit PT and tests got pushed to next year. I'm hoping to be healed and running fast enough to pass by then and I'll have 4 consecutive full tests on the record which is the magic number. I'd really like to be back hitting a 90+ on the test but that's gonna take more time. The prior surgeries have kept me down enough to keep me from working out hard enough to make that happen. This time I got a small cartilage implant that should be the long term ticket.
