What did you do to your G-Body today 2024

20241229_105553.jpgI originally put the front to back coolant bypass to help the 406.after thinking about it,it might be just another place for a leak to show up and I can always plumb it back in place if i think it'll benefit the new set up.on paper it looks like it would but i can't remember if it did..
🤷‍♂️

I installed the new SS Walker Quiet Flow mufflers yesterday, I had to shorten up the pipes from the engine by 2”s. I had two jogs that angled off to the mufflers and didn’t have enough room to cut the 2”s from there so I cut from the straights and welded the jogs back in. Beyond that it went right back together just fine with no other mods needed.

I started it up and they were considerably quieter to my ear. I got my wife and kids and we went for a drive with the decibel meter and around town it sits around 65-73 decibels. On the highway at 65-70mph just under 80 decibels. They have a much deeper tone and not raspy like the other mufflers I started with. My daughter had another meter app going in the rear seats and it was lower on both counts, as I had my meter app running on the dash mount. All told I like the mufflers, the deep tone is pleasant inside with the windows up.

Onto the front coil springs next as the pin striping is being put off for another week or two. Should be able to get the springs done before the week is out.
