What do the numbers all mean ? Really !

565 just means an SS having a threesome with a 6 . I can''t believe you didn't know that...

That was just for reference. to get the ball rolling.

model numbers are marketing tools and don't have much to do with the actual vehicle. The F150 when it first came out did have a 1,500 payload so the 150 did tell you something about the truck. The base trucks now are basically all called 1/2 ton

So your saying it was no fun parking in a full size space.... You have not lived until you've parked your probe in a full size space.

I believe the 565 was derived from the wizard Merlin - and yes, not 225 wheel base but over all length
Apparently you did not hear but Merlin was recently was shot by a DART as in big M.

Wow 3 engine references in one sentence it's got to be a record of some kind.

It amazes me what some people think 442 means. Apparently to them it whould mean 4 IQ 4 fingers and 2 chromosomes.

1. In the 50s and early 60s, Buick named their motors after their torque output, not CI. e.g. They called their 300 CI a 310.

2. 1500, 2500, 3500 truck designations is an outdated way of rating the payload capacity of trucks. It doesn't mean anything anymore, the names just stuck.

3. 442 is 4 barrel, 4 speed, dual exhaust.

4. GTO stands for Gran Turismo Omolagato, which is Italian for Homolagated Grand Touring. Basically race engine in a car not meant for racing.

5. 350 as in Shelby GT350 is supposedly named after the number of steps it took to get from Carroll Shelby's office to some other building or something.
