Former Ford dealership service manager, then True Value/Husqvarna dealership manager, now project manager at a custom fabrication shop that specializes in stainless steel and plastic. We make all sorts of things. From cancer drug tanks for Siemens healthcare, to "work benches" that are used to make computer chips at IBM, and Universities around the world. Next year I'll be travelling to Australia to install some of them in the University of Syndey 😀

I'm still running my *ss off. I've been in Seattle this week working with Honda. Did 74.4 hrs and I'll have 1350 miles in my commute by the time I get home -- plus probably 200-300 miles per day on the job.
I've got one day off, then an inspection 300 miles from home. Then 2 days off. Then a week in Panama. Then I start on a huge dealership special service tool inventory that's supposed to keep me busy nonstop until November.
Supposed to be a week in Puerto Rico and a week in the Dominican republic too.
I'm already exhausted but I'll sleep when I'm dead.

I say the exact same thing when people ask when do I sleep... when I'm dead.

I'm an I.T. professional(20+ years), currently working for the provincial government. Every day is a new challenge, and it pays well. I was an autobody tech (painter) for a few years just after Y2K. I would have stayed in that profession, but making minimum wage while earning your certification hours(and treated as slave labor) for 2+years is impossible to do when you're raising a family and have a mortgage. If you're 18, have a good work ethic, and live with your parents, pick up a trade and apprentice for a few years! Once you have that "meal-ticket", you'll always be employed and make an excellent living!

I’m a retired mechanical engineer from the oil patch. My wife and I still do some work from home but I try to keep it to a minimum. My two sons and I are preparing three cars for the “Cruzzing the coast” in October. Sure is interesting to see what a diverse background is involved in the forum.
