Both look infinitely better and are around the same price

Everything in the Chicago area is overpriced, not to mention the beating a city car takes and the salt damage from our crappy winters. Those 2 cars above aren't priced too terribly bad, but I usually see Malibu's around here in the $6500 range and there's nothing special about them. You'll find better deals in Indiana, Wisconsin, and the far surrounding burbs.
I would show him these pics and tell him this is what i can get for 4500.00 NOT WHAT YOUR TRYING TO SELL smile and say no thank you........ I agree with that one gentelmen he must be on crackbourbon said:Check these 2 out that are on the Chicago Craigslist:

Yep! I'm the same way. The closer to original the better. That's where the tasteful mods come into play. The worst one is seeing cars with custom interior....with someone's initials or name in the head rest or off-color piping that just looks cheap. Not a fan of dash mount tachs that put holes in the dash either. I've come to dislike Grant wheels too, especially the wood rimmed ones that everyone seems to buy.
I don't think the blue Malibu is bad though. I like the low profile cowl hood, original paint color and the N90's on it.

I bought this car for the same money he is asking for that one. I didn't touch the body on mine, that is how it came. It since have redone the interior, carpet, seats, dash, radio, headliner. Replaced the small block, saginaw and 10 bolt, But what I got for the money was a super solid car. AND it is a factory 4 speed as well. Keep looking and good luck.
