What does this tag mean?

Just out of curiousity i was rotating the tires today and was worndering what this JC meant
is it anything special?
its located on the frame behind the passenger side rear wheel

Really why the hell would they put a paint code right there lol seams pointless but then again a lot of things gm has done seem that way

I was it and just got a little curious
 
It's not a paint code, it's the code for the frame so the lineworkers can tell what model it is to be.
 
On my '87 it just had an 'H' in that location. Pulled it out and tossed it.
 
I got an 84 4 door cutlass for parts back in the summer and it had "JC" tags on its frame as well.I pulled them off to give to a buddy because his initals are jc.

you could be onto something...J.C. inspected the G body frame.... :shock:
