I already own two other g bodys (montes) and locally someone is selling what looks to be a great condition 82 supreme calais. It only has 59000km on it and hes asking 5500. Is this a decent price? He doesnt seem too firm either. Goin to look at it tomorrow. I have a picture but dont know how to attach it. It has a v8 in it. Car looks clean in pic.

I paid 5000 for my 85 salon 5 years ago.............so that price is good for a really clean car. maybe try to get him down a bit if the tires are bald, or some dings on the bumper/body. being a calais model its probably got a few good options. does it have t tops? that would make it a real good price.

Well if the mileage is what it is said to be..that's pretty low..so the car should be in pretty damn nice shape. By the pic it looks like it is. Get as much history on the car as you can..of course look it over real good and offer him $4000 and see where it goes..he'll likely counter offer but it's easier for you to come up.

Good shape low mileage cars like this are getting pretty hard to find up here.

Good luck.

update: so i got a hold of the actual owner of this cutlass (talked to his friend first) and he says rear frame rails and bumpers have been replaced. Is it common for them to get that rotten with only 59000km's? I live around the London Ontario area. I know that it is a common thing on gbodys but with so little km's? Im startin to think this guy doesnt know the correct km and the car is rotten underneath and has had a body and paint job. What would you guys pay for a car like this? btw its a certified driver right now. Trying to set a time up to see it.

The best thing to do is get a good look at it yourself. Look at the bottom of the quarter panels right behind the tires and try to look behind the chrome trim. Check out the trunk and look closely for any hidden rust.

Definitely going to look at the quarters closely. If there is any rust it will be there. Going to bring a magnet also as my bondo checker.
